In an effort to conserve fuel and manpower we are asking residents to call the office to schedule a pick up. This will enable Public works only two Bulk pick-ups during each of the winter months.

Beach nourishment operations have been resumed; it is a 24/7 operation.  The sand is conveyed via a pipeline which extends from the dredge in Corson’s Inlet to the area of the fill, currently approaching 43^rd  Street.  The pipe will eventually extend all the way to 52^nd Street.

August 27, 2009

Beach nourishment operations have been suspended due to an equipment failure.   Once the equipment has been restored, pumping operations will resume.  Due to the impending tropical storm Danny, it is likely that pumping operations will once again be suspended; the duration of the suspension will be dependent on the severity and length of the storm.
