Sea Isle City Battered By Coastal Storm!

The Friday 13th storm of 2009 was a bad one.

Sea Isle was not hit as bad as other areas.  It could have been worse.  The high tides, rough surf and on shore winds (typical nor’ easter) and brought on and intensified by tropical storm Ida was disastrous up and down the coast of New Jersey.  Cape May County was under a local state of emergency but no mandatory evacuations were issued.  Word has it that on Monday Federal legislators will ask Gov. Jon S. Corzine to declare a state of emergency for southern New Jersey shore municipalities whose beaches and shore protection were heavily damaged during this week’s coastal storm.
